Activity day to support local community.

Sunshine Linus regularly receives requests from the community to make particular items. At the recent activity day, members concentrated on making specific resources to fulfill some recent requests from the community. Thank you to everyone for your efforts.

Reminder: Activity Day

The next Activity Day is on
  Monday, September 16 @ 9am. 
We are making Santa Sacks!    

              Large ones are 30 x 30 cm and small are 20 x 20 cm.

What to bring - as per email from Sharon: 

  • Morning Tea, if you are a baker 
  • Sewing Machine
  • Overlocker
  • All your sewing needs
  • Sheets, as per email 
  • Christmas materials for the ties

Notes from our August Meeting.

DATES FOR THE DIARY 
  • Activity day will be held 16 September, we will be cutting out Santa sacks packs (30" square sacks with colourful tie) for Care Outreach Coolum. 
  •  Annual Sewing Retreat Bribie Island, dates 25 - 28 November, make sure you register your interest with girls on front desk. 
  • Next Months meeting: Monday 30 September 
SHOW AND TELL
Judie B showed quilts that she had quilted
 
9 circles quilt, pink/green star quilt

Green/brown quilt made from a jelly roll

Black/white/floral print quilt

Mauve quilt with flowers pieced together by Annie.


Zig-zag quilt with lovely multi fabric border

Tumbler block pattern with turquoise border.






Glorianne showed a number of quilts she had quilted.

Chris also made this quilt using multi shades of green squares.
 
Yvonne made a multi coloured scrap quilt.

Sue made a blue/yellow children's strip quilt.

                       Wendy made a lovely quilt made from orphan blocks from freebie table. 






Glorianne made a beautiful red/pink heart quilt. 

 Clair showed 2 large floor mats, one using furniture fabrics and the other using sensory fabrics. 

  
 
Jenny showed some lovely crocheted dishcloths.
