Activity Day: Monday 15th April

Sunshine Linus ‘Activity Days’ always provide the opportunity to come together to make items for the wider community and to socialise in a much more relaxed environment. This month’s Activity Day saw 24 ladies meet together to learn some new skills and revive some old ones.

One group of ladies were busy cutting out children’s PJ patterns ready to be sewn up. The catch this time around was inserting openings in the sleeves so the PJ’s can be easily put on and pulled off. Once sewn up, these PJ’s will be donated to the local hospitals.

Kaye showed another group of ladies how to make the card holders that residents in the Aged Care Centres use when playing card games. These quirky little gadgets assist the elderly to hold their playing cards. The ladies in this group managed to complete 24 card holders during the course of the morning!

The third group of ladies set about making crochet flower puzzle balls under the careful instruction and guidance of Jenny. Again these colourful and tactile balls will be donated to Aged Care Centres once complete.

And did Thelma spend the morning drinking cups of tea and chatting? Certainly not! Well, maybe a little bit. Of course she and Rosemary and Sue spent the morning sorting all those boxes and cupboards no one gets time to sort during the monthly meetings. Thank you for your dedication ladies!

We had one surprise visitor during the morning - Leanne from Noosa dropped in to deliver boxes and bags full of the most delightful, knitted items. She has been busy these past 12 months knitting up a storm! Thank you Leanne, they are gorgeous and will be much appreciated as the weather cools down!

See you at our next monthly meeting on Monday 29th April.
