A Chance to House Keep and Tidy up!

We enjoyed an "extra" gathering on Monday 10th March, an opportunity to do a bit of "housework" with tidying fabrics and other resources, sorting through cupboards and filing cabinets and just getting things in order.

Kay Nightingale also presented a wonderful workshop on ZigZag piecing and from all reports it was a great success.  Kay is a natural presenter (having been a teacher in a previous life) and also provided written instructions for those who attended.  Thankyou Kay for doing such a good job.

We welcomed Adam Rose and his offsider Beth from the Chaplaincy at Maroochydore State High School.  The Mighty Minions club is a lunchtime club made available to any students who want to be busy during their lunch hour, with a focus on serving and doing for others.  Adam has contacted Sunshine Linus with a view to partner with the Mighty Minions in providing resources, both sewing resources and human resources to help with the ongoing skills building of their club members.  I'll have more information about that in the LINK Newsletter coming out mid March.  Adam and Beth left with arms full of fabrics and other haberdashery from our stash.  We're looking forward to our association with this very worthwhile group of young people.

Above are some teddy bears and Super Hero Minions the students make for Trauma support in Ambulances and Police cars.  The students are also making recycled envelopes and bags from newspapers and magazines.  Aren't they fabulous?

Here's some more eye candy of some of the things that were beautifully made by our very clever quilters.  Well done girls!

These gorgeous PJ's were made by Jo-Anne, just lovely!

Leone has been busy putting together these zipper bags which were delivered to Sunny Kids for their toiletry bags.

We are gathering again on the 31st March.  Hope to see you then!  Take care!
