Hello everyone and welcome to the August blogpost for Sunshine Linus. This month's meeting saw 52 ladies plus two new members gather together to donate and distribute items to those in need on the Sunshine Coast and beyond.
At the start of the day Elaine made sure the 'sales table' was set up and ready for business.
As always the distribution tables were overflowing with beautiful items. The 'Sensory Team' have excelled this month creating an amazing array of 'touchy feely' cubes, blockenspeils and hand muffs.

These blockenspeils were extra special with their carefully coordinated pictures.
Elaine also created this tactile mat filled with lots of interesting items.
Even though Claire couldn't be with us this month she had organised for her 'Elmer’s Weather' interactive mat to be delivered to the Currimundi Special School. Elmer, the patchwork elephant, is
already helping the students learn about
windy, cloudy, stormy, foggy, rainy, snowy and sunny weather.

Sharon ran the formal proceedings in Kaye's absence.
The winners were Dawn, Irene and Bridget. Congratulations ladies!
During 'show and tell' there were lots of gorgeous quilts and rugs to show.
Anne showed a pretty quilt she had made using a friend's pattern and another colorful stained-glass quilt assembled using the 'quilt-as-you-go' method.

Joy had brought in her sweet 'Wonky Donkey' themed quilt top.
Lyn had made a colorful 'indigenous' themed quilt using wedged shaped blocks.
Judi had sewed and quilted two quilts using panels.
This lovely wedding ring quilt was donated by the Bribie Island Craft Group.
Barbara showed a renal quilt where she had turned the blocks upside down so the patient could see the images on the quilt when they were lying down!
The 'Yarners' have also been busy creating beautiful rugs and other knitted and crocheted items for the cooler months.
