31 August, 2015 meeting

One week after the Open Day and it was time to distribute all the quilts we had displayed on the Nambour Uniting Church pews - plus a few more. The folded quilts might not look as pretty as they did on the pews but the height of the piles was impressive!

Kay F finished off this one
The next two quilts were made and kindly donated by Kawana Quilters. Thank you ladies.

Jan took home a roll of fabric and with some clever cutting has created this beautiful quilt top.

Claire B padded the bear on this quilt and added some toys!
When Peter Wellington came in to see what happens at a Sunshine Linus distribution meeting, most of the quilts and other items of comfort had been packed for delivery. President Judie gratefully accepted his generous financial donation on behalf of the group.

Next week Judie and Claire are going to visit Ablecare with a number of touchy feely aprons, cushions and quilts. We will also be handing over other items which will assist their client.

communication wallets for Ablecare clients

a busy and noisy (bells) touchy feely cushion

a special request - a touchy feely with lots of zip pockets

weighted dogs for Ablecare and a Special School

a fiddle bag for aged care clients

a weighted blanket

You may have seen this "Early Warning Signs" quilt at our Open Day. It has already been presented to the teachers at Nambour Special School. They will use it to teach students about how they may feel in uncomfortable situations.

Our next meeting is on Monday 28 September - please come along to see what we do, make friends with crafty people and contribute to the Sunshine Coast and wider community.
