What a busy and cheerful morning we had at our September meeting! The hall was full of friendly faces, chatter, and creativity—it was wonderful to see so many members come along and join in.

The Sales Table – Christmas Came Early 🎁
The sales table was buzzing with activity! There were so many goodies to choose from, perfect for Secret Santas, Christmas presents, or just a little treat for yourself. Members had the chance to pick up:

Christmas sacks

Coffee cups with matching placemats

Homemade delights like lemon butter, jams, and biscuits

Donated plants to brighten up your home
And if that wasn’t enough, there was even a Pfaff sewing machine for sale! Don’t forget—next month’s table will be just as tempting, so keep it in mind for your Christmas shopping and stocking fillers.

Annual Retreat – Bribie Island Getaway 🏝️
Mark your calendars! Our much-loved annual retreat is happening from October 13–16 at Bribie Island. There are still spots available, so don’t miss out. It’s the perfect chance to:

Water Bottle Covers
Barbara and Sharon presented water bottle covers being made for the oncology unit at SCUH. Each cover takes around two evenings to complete. These are in high demand and will provide comfort and practical support for patients.

Sunshine Linus – Sewing Group Requests
Palliative Care Gowns
The sewing group is currently making soft hospital gowns for palliative care. To continue this work, they require cotton doona covers and sheets. Donations of these materials will be greatly appreciated and will directly support this project.

Towels for Pillowcases and Heat Packs
Members are asked to consider donating towels for Christmas. A single sheet towel can be repurposed into four pillowcases and a heat pack. These items are practical, well-received, and will support the group’s work over the holiday period.
Adult Clothing for Wishlist
The group is also making adult clothing for Wishlist. Items needed include:
T-shirts
Boxer shorts
Light fabric track suit pants
Breast Drainage Bags
Breast drainage bags remain in high demand. The pattern is available on the blog for those who wish to contribute.

Show and Tell – Quilt Magic ✨
As always, Show and Tell was a highlight.
This month, Lyn D. wowed us with her creativity. She gathered 200 triangles from the freebie table, added some cheerful ducks, and turned it all into a stunning quilt. It’s always inspiring to see how scraps and oddments can be transformed into something beautiful.
