AUGUST IN BRIEF

• Summer is on it's way.

This month Sunshine Linus sent out  30 beach Bears to Surf Life Saving Clubs across the coast. The bears will be used to bring a smile to the faces of young beach goers over the summer months.

• Retreat

Sunshine Linus has a planned our annual 'Retreat'. 

It will be held from 13 - 16 October at Bribie Island.  Please register as soon as you can to ensure this terrific event goes ahead. Please see important dates for details.More details also on the pages section on the blog.

Show and Tell

Thank you to all who contributed. Anne explained block quilting using Missouri stars template. Quilts were finished by Judy B. Glorianne bought in a lovely pink machine embroidery and a yellow pastel made with scraps. Barbara showed how to make a rug bigger with easy borders.

Check out the quilts below they are so varied. We had quilts with green and white flower pattern, Squares in colours - potato chip, a Tea Cup in bright colours, Pastel quilt with variegated thread, Cat and dog in window boxes, Maroon scrap quilt, Bird blocks, Squares in pastels, a purple quilt using squares and rectangles and one with Koalas.

September 15  Activity Day - We are making Santa Sacks ready for Coolum Outreach to distribute at Christmas.
