Monday 27th February

Hello everyone and welcome to February's blog post. 57 members attended this month's meeting and as usual there was much to do and many friends old and new to meet and greet.

Elaine decided on a new format for the sales table (in preparation for the Open Day), which included a tiered display and labels.

Plants have become a popular item on the sales table

Lots of lovely bags

After dropping off donated items and looking for that perfect piece of fabric or ball of wool, it was time for the more serious part of the morning.

Kaye started the meeting by thanking Sharon and Marion for attending the Fire and Safety training session back in January.

Sharon spent some time sharing the finer details of the fire drill procedure.

Show and Tell included a stunning array of quilt tops donated by the Peachester Mountain Quilters. Kaye and the other members of this group had assembled the quilts using blocks donated from a deceased estate.

Anne C showed a selection of her lovely quilts some of which were started at Retreat.

Dorothy showed her blue and green quilt, a clever combination of blocks from the 'Freebie table'.

Pam showed a number of  gorgeous items made and donated by the 'Yarners' team including a knitted cape, pretty blue and white rug and some cute Kanyini bears.

Val showed a selection of clever items made and donated by the 'Sewing' team including a turban, drawstring bag and carry bag.

Sharon and Linda had fun showing the 'touchy feely' items, a bright and beautiful cube, mat and book.

And here is a cute idea. What to do with all those fabric badges we have collected over the years? Make them into a 'touchy feely' book!

Claire showed a fun 'touchy feely' apron destined for Palmview State Special School, a silly sack made from two way stretch fabric and two stunning 3D wall hangings that were made from cushion panels.

Glorianne showed a bright Christmas themed quilt made using a pattern and some blocks found on the freebie table'. There will be a Christmas themed section on the sales table on Open Day if members have any suitable items in their possession.

And the winners of the raffle prizes this month were Margaret M, Bonnie, Jan and Jenna. Congratulations ladies!
