Monday 25th October

Monday morning was a warm and sticky one but it didn't prevent the ladies from Sunshine Linus arriving early to set up the hall ready for the October meeting.

Elaine had the 'sales table' looking gorgeous with many items displayed ready for purchase.

Last month Spotlight donated several rolls of 'Australiana' themed fabric to Sunshine Linus so it was great to see some of the items members made using the fabric. Margaret made four delightful bears and some bags, Elaine made a breast-pillow and Sue V made some bags too!

Other members used some of the fabric for quilt backing.

Speaking of bags, Val repurposed a number of the many Niki bags in storage to create these lovely toiletry bags.

Val also put her creative talents to use to make a set of fabulous 'touchy feely' books.

Morning tea is always a treat. Many thanks to the ladies who contribute plates of goodies. The jelly cakes were made by Margaret and Marion made some delicious apple slices.

The ladies from the Bribie Island Thursday Quilters have been busy again. Ursula knitted this herd of extremely cute elephants.

The ladies from Bribie Island also donated two colourful rugs.

Irene has been knitting rugs from squares found on the 'freebie table'. She also found a set of knitted dolls on the 'freebie table' that needed to be filled with toy fill and faces added. Aren't they cute!

There are always treasures to be found on the 'freebie table'

Jenny H sewed two rag books together and delivered a bag full of fun dolls she had made.

Bridget shows her striking 'Jagged X' quilt started during Kay's workshop and completed at home.

Annie included some foundation piecing on her pretty 'bird and heart' themed quilt.

Kaye assembled this beautiful quilt using some already made blocks (although she had to finish the applique on a few of them!) Thanks to Chris Harvey for doing the custom quilting.

Anne C did the quilting on this pretty applique quilt.

Judie B enjoyed experimenting with some silver thread to quilt these two delightful quilts.

Two more brightly colored batik quilts made by Daphne and her friend Gail from Mackay.

Claire arrived with three amazing sensory quilts. The first was based on the story 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. It came complete with movable goats and troll.

Claire was asked by Sundale Aged Care Coolum to create a number of sensory wall hangings so she created a floral design wall hanging and an animal themed version too. The blocks (bricks) are filled with items that create texture when touched!

Marie thanked Sunshine Linus on behalf of WIZO (Women's International Zionist Organization) for the donated raffle quilt. The lucky winner was Rita Hetherington!
