Activity Day: Monday 8 March

Our first 'Activity Day' for 2021 was welcomed and enjoyed by all 17 members who attended.

Some of the sewing machines, overlockers, irons and extension cords/boards ready to be safety tested by Jesse of Keith Atkinson Electrical, Nambour.

Marie signed in under the guidance of Janet.

The activity for this month was making adult and children's hospital gowns. Sharon and Kaye checked the sizing for the gowns.

In the meantime Kay kept herself busy working on finishing some quilt tops.  She showed a scrap quilt  which was recognised by Yvonne as a quilt-top she had made.  The quilt was quilted by Deborah who is a friend of Kaye's.

Yvonne hard at work, hand sewing labels on quilts while waiting for her machine to be tested.

Kay keeping the troops 'hydrated' and fed throughout the morning.

Anne and Jill used their time while waiting for their machines to be tested to measure the quilts and record the size on the new labels, ready for our next distribution day.

Barbara and Sue enjoyed a socially distanced morning tea.

Dorothy was still smiling after retrieving boxes that had fallen off the trolleys under the stage.

Lisa hard at work cutting out hospital gowns.

A team of fabric sorters (Judy, Glorianne, Carole, Anne and Yvonne) did a wonderful job tidying up the fabric boxes.

Dorothy and Janet were very pleased with their mammoth effort of tidying the 'touchy feely' boxes.
